What is pain ???

Lynda asked..." what is pain" on her blog, Zeus Communications. I believe all of us know what it is and we will avoid to be pain as well. But why we do not know to prevent others to be painful??

I'm not good in writing and of course I'm lazy to write as well..... but Xiao Hei's case has forced me to write something to urge, or should I say BEG all the HUMAN creatures out there to be more humane to animals, especially cats and dogs.

Ok I'm lazy to urge and urge, beg and beg AGAIN and AGAIN..... let me link you to Zeus's blog to follow the Xiao Hei's sufferings...... CKICK HERE

Mother bear will not be euthanised after Yellowstone mauling

Malaysia needs to learn a lot of things, especially to be considerate on animals. Please have a look on how US handle the animal case, comparing to how the government has done to the 2 Penang dogs who attacked the Irishman, which will be put down from the authorities.
Show your ANGER here...

Officials at Yellowstone National Park said a female grizzly bear that attacked and killed a hiker earlier this week was trying to protect her cubs and not acting aggressively. The bear will be allowed to continue to roam free with her family.
CNN reported that around 11 a.m. on Wednesday Brian Matayoshi and his wife Marylyn, both experienced hikers from Southern California, came out of a forested area on a back country trail and surprised a mother bear and her two cubs while they were relaxing in an open meadow.
Dan Wenk, Park Superintendent said, “Upon seeing the bear, they began to back down the trail and when they turned to check, the bear was in full charge towards them.”
The bear caught up with the couple and attacked Mr. Matayoshi while his wife took cover behind a fallen tree. After the grizzly bit and clawed her husband it then advanced toward Marylyn, lifting her off the ground by grabbing hold of her backpack. Marylyn played dead and the bear lumbered off, leaving her uninjured.
Marylyn called out for help and was aided by other hikers in the area, but her husband died at the scene.
At first park rangers thought they would have to capture and possibly kill the bear, but their investigation led them to conclude she was only trying to protect her cubs.
“This bear is not marked in any way and has never been involved in another conflict in the area,” said wildlife biologist Kerry Gunther.
He also said the couple did almost everything right during the encounter, except carry bear spray which is generally effective in keeping bears away. It was the Matayoshi’s fourth trip to Yellowstone.
Wenk told Reuters, “The bear’s behavior is consistent with a bear who was in a defensive posture. We did not see anything predatory in terms of the bear’s actions.”
The female grizzly and her two 6-month-old cubs had been spotted in the area before the attack and have remained in the meadow area since Wednesday. A warning sign to other hikers has been posted on the trail.
Biologists believe there are at least 600 bears in the greater Yellowstone area. And although mauling’s are very rare with an occurrence of “1 in 3 million”, tourists have reported seeing many bears this season.
Last summer a mother grizzly was captured and euthanized after she killed a camper while he slept and bit two others in the Soda Butte Campground five miles from Yellowstone. Her one-year-old cubs were sent to the zoo in Billings, Montana. It was determined the bear had “displayed unprovoked aggressive behavior.”

Kelly and Jacinta's dog shelter in Ipoh needs urgent help

This is a part of the posting of The Animal Care, regarding this Ipoh Shelter story........
We need funds to help feed our dogs, for repair and maintenance. We need to extend our shelter to accomodate the few strays we nursed and now have no heart to release. We also need to pay our 2 workers about RM450.00 monthly.  We have a few more doggies that need to be spayed. All our dogs need to be vacinnated too.

Our shelter is located on a piece of  land which was leased to the Budhist Retreat Centre, in Tanjung  Rambutan. The BRC Commitee allowed us to squat on a portion of it and we are extremely grateful for their kindness. The shelter however we built ourselves.  The adjoining built up portion was left to us to use, after Doreen (SPCA  Ipoh) and her friends moved their dogs to the present SPCA grounds in Gunung Rapat.

Kelly and I can be reached at :  016 539 7192 (Kelly Tan Juat Jong) and  012- 515 0803 (Jacinta).

For those who wish to donate to help Kelly and Jacinta's shelter, donation details are as follows:

Zoo's "Cruelty"

As reported on China Press dated 3/5/2011 (The Star also reported on this matter on the same day), ACRES (a Singapore-based animal rights NGO) made a survey visit to 39 zoos in 2009, found that most of them is in a "Terrible" condition to the animals.

The most terrible finding is that an orang utan in Johor zoo, Shirley, is a smoker !!! Public is throwing cigarette butts to Shirley, hoping to see him smoking in front of them.Shirley has already addicted to smoking. She even asking the public for cigarettes.

The faults is in two parties, the zoo authority and the public. How could the authority never prevent the public from throwing the cigarette butts to Shirley?? There is no reason AT ALL that the authrity doesn't know about it!!!

Secondly, public should be blamed!!! As normal, as a human, when a parent is a smoker, they don't even will encourage their children to smoke. Then why they encourage Shirley??? Just because she is not your child???

I hope the authority should put some effort educating the public.

You can see how happy seeing Shirley's smoking !!

How Could You ?!! Living Prove Of Cruelty !

I've just read this article at JBtalk...........

H.O.P.E. is a non-profit organisation in JB helping strays animal, especially dogs. The above cruelty sample shows that there is still human like that in this modern, civilized world.

PLEASE...IF YOU CAN'T LOVE, AT LEAST YOU DON'T HURT.
We understand ... it is nothing wrong and we are not going to blame you, if you don't help (practically), while seeing a stray animals at road side, market place etc; they might lying there helpless and hungry, but you can  give all these rescuer a call to arrange for a rescue (you can find so many organisation in my blog which you can record their email and Hp no, just for stand-by).
IF YOU DON'T HELP, AT LEAST YOU CALL FOR HELP.

A Lunch Visit To The Shelter

Such a long time never step in the Paws Mission shelter. I become a stranger to all the fellow furry friends. They bark at me and do not know who am I.

It's a shock to me when I found out that the number of stray in the shelter increase almost triple; from 15 to 50. Just imagine how serious the stray cats and dogs in our society.

Again, the work load of Aunty Kiew has increased tremendously.  Now she has  two  work-mates helping her out; luckily.

Their job function also change. Initially they clean the shelter and feed the dogs. But now, additional duty for them........ become a peace-maker to the dogs. Due to too many dogs in one shelter, sometimes there will be some fights between our furry friends. So Kiew and others need to keep them in peace. when there is a fight. I can't imagine the scene, but I have experienced it today. Not an easy job !!
Hey, who are you ?
Waiting for lunch...
Post for camera...
What happen there..??
Whose shoes is that...??
Rescued from council pond...
Breaking the fence....
Break the door... I want to go in!

When is my turn for lunch ??
Hungry oledi...
Two quiet waiting...
Wait for your turn.....my boy
对面的女孩看过来。。。。看过来。。看过来
We want to go over there..
Cute pup....
While waiting for lunch....
On top of the world...
Pups enjoy lunch..
Yummy...yummy
Under the sun...after meal

That's how serious the stray problem is and appeal all the prospective adopters gives all these strays a chance to live in a better home environment. Don't buy one...adopt one.!
